Abstract

This work investigates and conceptualizes a state of the art in relation to the topic of egg weighing, in topics such as: Development of prototypes, electronic systems, artificial intelligence, and commercial machines. Subsequently, the requirements, needs and limitations of the design of an egg grading machine are determined through conversations with poultry producers in the region of Santander-Colombia. A prototype egg grading machine is designed following a series of design methodologies described in the literature for the creation of products. Using the software SolidEdge, a digital prototype capable of simulating the physical movement of the proposed model as a solution to the design problem is built. In addition, an electronic control scheme is proposed for the operation of the machine. The proposed design takes into account cutting-edge technology that incorporates technologies of the fourth industrial revolution such as IoT (Internet of Things) for data analysis and is designed especially for small and medium-sized egg producers.
